Ich muss meinem Vorredner absolut Recht geben. Allerdings ist Qos ist nicht nur wichtig für VoIP oder Design. Ohne Qos geht es auch bei komplexen Routing & Switching Environments nichts. Sei es Traffic-Policing and Shaping, Congestion avoidance oder Link efficency. Dies alles ist in diesem Buch detailliert und übersichtlich erklärt. Der Trainee kann sich schnell in die verschiedenen Topics reinversetzen und kommt mit dem Stoff sehr gut klar. Durch die bei Cisco Certification Guides üblichen „Do you know it already“ –Fragen, wird wie immer jedes Kapitel beschlossen; was mir als Cisco-Trainer schon ein bisschen gegen den Strich geht, denn es entsteht bei den Schülern der Eindruck: „Wenn ich diese Fragen beantworten kann, dann bin ich auch soweit die Prüfung zu machen.“ Dem ist natürlich nicht so, dennoch ist an diesen Fragen zu sehen, worauf es Cisco ankommt. Ein Buch das ich meinen Trainees mit gutem Gewissen ans Herz legen kann.
"CISCO QOS" ist definitiv eines der besten Bücher aus der "CISCO Exam Certification Guide" Reihe die ich kenne. Im erfreulichen Gegensatz zu anderen Büchern aus derselben Reihe, verteilen sich hier die fast 800 Seiten auf lediglich 10 Kapitel. Die Autoren nutzen dass, um auf ausgedehnten 50-70 Seiten jedes Thema von unterschiedlichen Seiten zu beleuchten. Dieses Buch ist m.E. ganz ausgezeichnet auch für diejenigen geeignet, die im Rahmen Ihrer CISCO Zertifizierung immer wieder mit dem Thema QOS konfrontiert werden und mal ein Buch, zu explizit diesem Thema suchen. Mit hat dieses Buch beim CCDA, und den Prüfungen BCMSN und BCRAN ohne Frage immens geholfen.Ein Muss für jeden CCIP oder CCVP Kandidaten, mehr als nützlich für den CCDA und CCNP. Ein wirklich gelungenes Buch zu einem wichtigen Thema. Autor Wendell Odom kennt man schon von seinen beiden allgemein akzeptierten Einführungswerken zum CCNA.[CISCO QOS 1587201240 english]
